Spring 2021

Spring has arrived and in Chinese Medicine this is associated with the Wood Element. After one of the hardest years, this spring brings a greatly needed change and rebirth. According to Chinese Medicine, each season has its unique power. This is the time of growth, birth, new life and healing. In this season we move from the potential inside of us to the outward manifestation of that potential. This energy arises in us as well.

We hunkered down for the past year during the Covid 19 pandemic. We closed off from the world. Although the pandemic is still here and life has not returned to normal, we can feel this spring energy reemerging. Let’s come out of our homes, greet our neighbors and feel the resurrection of life returning. This is the time of year to wake up. Anne Frank advised those who could, to "go outside, to the country, enjoy the sun and all nature has to offer. Go outside and try to recapture the happiness within yourself; think of all the beauty in yourself and in everything around you and be happy."

I am taking a yearlong class in becoming a health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I am expanding my life-long passion for health and wellness in this direction. Although I am still a student until July when I finish my program, I am seeing clients now who want to improve their health. Do you want to lose weight, eat better, incorporate exercise into your life and feel better in general? Do you have any health issues you want to improve? Health coaching can guide you in the direction of better choices and health in addition to acupuncture. Our health is our most precious resource.

There is something new in the air now. This is the power of spring: healing, growth, living larger in the world and shining our light. And like plants, we always grow toward the light.
