I have been interested in nutrition since I was a teen. It all began when my aunt cooked healthy food from her Adele Davis cookbook for my mother as she lay dying from cancer. She didn’t cure my mother, but she influenced me on the importance of healthy food for good health.
As an adult I had a severe toxic exposure to mold that forced me move out of my home, flattened my health, and turned my life upside down. Despite all of that, I knew there was a path back to feeling like me again. I just needed to find it.
After a lot of trial and error, I found that eating the right foods along with the right exercise helped ease my physical symptoms and the anxiety that the exposure to mold created. This inspired me to learn more about nutrition and how it could help other people going through difficult times in their own lives. I have since become a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the Josh Gitalis School of Functional Nutrition and it is now my goal to pass my knowledge along so that I can help my community find its path to better health and wellness.
Having a chronic condition gave me more empathy and compassion for those people suffering from chronic illnesses. Life is full of challenges, but having a sturdy foundation helps us weather those storms with more grace and joy.
